Local SEO
Local SEO Services That Put You on the Map
Every day, people in your area ask Google for the kind of help you offer, and each of them words it a little differently, often with a town name tacked on the end. Local SEO is the monthly work of getting your business in front of those searches, both on the map and in the results below it.

On the Search Page
Three Ways Customers Can Find You on Google
Search for something like “water heater repair” in your town, and what comes back is really three separate things. Each one is won a different way.
The map pack
That’s the short list of businesses sitting next to a map, and every one of them comes from a Google Business Profile. People read your name, hours, reviews and photos right there, often before they ever visit your website.
Your website, below the map
Under the map are the regular results, and that’s where keyword research and on-page SEO count the most. We group searches that mean the same thing and give each group its own page, worded the way your customers actually type.
Paid ads at the top
Google can also show paid ads above the map, including Local Services Ads. You only appear there while you’re paying for it, and whether it’s worth doing alongside SEO is answered in the questions further down.
AI Search
Showing Up in AI Search Answers
A lot of people now read the AI Overview at the top of Google, switch to AI Mode or ask ChatGPT the whole question and get a written answer back. Those answers are put together from what’s already online about your business, so the work in our SEO plans helps there too. Nobody can promise you’ll be named in an AI answer, and that includes us.
Pages Google can find and use
AI Overviews and AI Mode only pull from pages Google has already indexed, and they can run several searches at once to answer a single question. That’s one more reason every main service you offer should have its own page.
A Business Profile with nothing missing
Google’s own advice for its AI features includes keeping your Business Profile up to date, so we fill out every part of yours and keep it current from month to month.
Listings that agree with each other
An AI tool looking for a plumber can land on Yelp, the BBB or an old directory just as easily as your website. If one of those still shows an old address or number, the answer can repeat it, so we get every listing saying the same thing.
The Starting Plan
What the $460 Local Spark Plan Includes

Accelerate Growth, at $1,449/mo, moves the work onto your website’s own pages. On top of everything in Local Spark, it adds on-page SEO, backlinking, 10 blog posts and strategic responses to your Google reviews.
Area Domination, at $3,087/mo, steps up to 30 blog posts and premium backlinking, along with priority support and fast issue resolution. Regional Leader, at $5,364/mo, doubles your profile posts to 60 and adds in-depth keyword research and advanced tracking.

How Four Common SEO Pitches Hold Up
What you’ve heard“We guarantee you page one.”
What actually happensNobody can, and Google says so itself. Its guide to how Google Search works says “Google doesn’t guarantee that it will crawl, index, or serve your page,” even when a page follows every one of Google’s guidelines. Anyone promising you a spot is promising something they don’t control.
What you’ve heard“You’ll be on the map in two weeks.”
What actually happensA wrong category or missing hours on your profile can be fixed right away, but passing competitors who’ve spent years building their profiles and websites takes longer. How much longer depends on how many of them are after the same searches you are.
What you’ve heard“We’ll make you a page for every city in the state.”
What actually happensA city page only makes sense for a place you really take jobs in, and it has to be written about your work there, not copied from the last one with the name swapped. Google’s spam policies call out near-identical city pages as doorway abuse, and we don’t build them.
What you’ve heard“You’ll need a separate AI SEO package.”
What actually happensGoogle’s guide to its AI features says a site doesn’t need anything beyond regular SEO to show up in AI Overviews or AI Mode. That’s why it’s part of every SEO plan instead of being sold on the side.
Questions
Getting Started With Local SEO
Have a question that isn’t here? Email it to [email protected] and we’ll get back to you.
How is local SEO different from regular SEO?
Local SEO goes after searches with a place attached, and regular SEO goes after searches from anywhere. Someone typing “drain cleaning near me” or “roofer in Katy” wants a company that can come out to the house, so Google answers with businesses close by. Someone asking how to fix a running toilet could be in any state. If your customers live within driving distance of you, the local searches are the ones that matter.
Do I need a new website before you start?
No. If your website is in good shape, we’ll keep working with it. If it’s holding you back, you can add a next day website to your plan for $750, and the new site comes with the on-page SEO done from the start.
Should I run ads or do SEO?
Often both, since they do different jobs. Local Services Ads can get you in front of nearby customers soon after Google approves your business, and you pay Google for each lead. Rankings take longer to earn, but they don’t shut off when an ad budget runs out. If you need work coming in next month, start with the ads and scale them back later as your rankings pick up.
Can I show up in towns where I don’t have an office?
In the regular results, yes, and that’s what town pages are for. If you also take jobs in the next town over, a page about your work there gives Google something to show people searching from that town. The map is a different story, because Google still weighs how far your business is from the person searching. Adding the town to the service areas on your Business Profile helps too.
